Students of Summit's CNA/HHA program receive training in basic nursing skills and learn how to check and monitor vital signs, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration. Students will have the opportunity to apply their skills during laboratory exercises and clinical experience in a long-term care facility. In addition to work skills training, students are also prepared for the State Nursing Assistant Test-Out (a written and skills exam), and upon passing the exam; students are registered for placement on the Minnesota State Department of Health Nursing Assistant Registry, both of which are required for employment in the industry.

Upon successful completion of classroom studies, the student will participate in 24 hours of supervised clinical experience. This experience will be in a long-term care facility.
