Summit Academy OIC students who successfully complete 20 weeks of pre-apprentice construction training at Summit Academy OIC (Summit) will be well-positioned for construction employment opportunities. Louis King, Summit's President and CEO, has negotiated a contract with the Minnesota Ballpark Authority to hire a minimum of 50 graduates to meet minority hiring goals that include 15% unskilled minority; 10% skilled minority; 5% women; and 1% disabled workers.

Summit's Golf Classic will take place on June 2, 2008 at the world-class Bearpath Golf and Country Club. Proceeds from Summit's Golf Classic help economically disadvantaged adults train for jobs in high-demand fields and assist at-risk youth with academics and personal support. Summit's golf events have been sold-out tournaments with golfers representing the most influential Twin Cities' businesses. Since 2003, this event has raised more than $350,000 for Summit Academy.

Summit Academy OIC's Administrative Assistant Program provided the support, training and tools she needed to begin achieving her dream.

The fourth annual Summit Academy OIC Golf Classic was held on June 5 at the renowned Hazeltine National Golf Course. The day and course couldn't have been more beautiful! All of our fun was for a good cause, as we raised nearly $60,000 for Summit Academy's youth and adult education programs. read article... |

Harry Davis made me. He gave me the opportunities that led to my service at Phyllis Wheatley and the W. Harry Davis Leadership Foundation, and ultimately it was his call that landed me at Summit Academy OIC. He was the second person I called (after my wife) when I was considering a run for the Minneapolis School Board. Finally, he swore me in once I was elected. But, I am not special.
