What does a Community Health Worker do?
Community Health Workers are frontline public health workers who have a close understanding of the community they serve. This trusting relationship enables them to serve as a liaison between health and social services and the clients they serve. The goal is to facilitate access to services and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery. In addition to becoming a CHW, you can be trained as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) as well. A CNA is a person who assists patients with healthcare needs and cares for a patient who is ill or recovering from a surgery or disease. These combined teachings will give you a step up in the medical field.
