Thank You

Thank you to all of you who took part in Summit Academy OIC’s 14th Annual Golf Classic and Summer Soiree, held on June 13, 2016The Golf Classic hosted 30 foursomes; special thanks goes to our lead sponsors MidWestOne Bank and Dominium. That evening, the Summer Soiree, led by dinner sponsors APi and U.S. Bank hosted nearly 300 dinner guests. We are delighted to share that this year’s event raised over $570,000 – more than any previous year!

We could not have achieved this success without the generosity of people like you. As was shared during the dinner program, the Twin Cities face an invisible epidemic, an education gap, that prevents adults from getting the proper training and skills they need to access well-paying jobs, succeed in the workforce and become economically self-sufficient.

Summit Academy believes that economic security begins with investment in basic education and practical skills acquisition.  In addition, when we prioritize and invest in parents, we are directly investing in the workforce, in the community and—importantly—in children.  Summit’s innovative Contextualized GED training program provides those previously under-educated individuals with both a GED certification and a specialty skills certification which ultimately gets them on their way to a successful career and gives them the ability to support themselves and their family.

Thank you for helping to break the cycle of poverty, create skilled workers and secure economic vitality in our communities

Finally, please be sure to reserve June 12, 2017 on your calendar for next year’s golf event and summer soiree at Oak Ridge Country Club!
